This is yet another great Dakine product! I have this for traveling or visiting my family. It holds my laptop securely and has lots of useful smaller pockets. The inside pocket is huge and you could fit a pillow in it. The shoulder straps are adjustable and padded, making it easy to take a bunch of stuff on long treks! This is just as sturdy as all the other products Dakine has to offer.

I don't go to campus but I like the bag. It's the perfect size I was looking for.. not very large and not very small. Some may find it small if they have huge bricks as an excuse for a laptop but if you have a 13" or 14" wide screen laptop it will fit nicely. It is light weight and simple. The only improvements I guess can be.... An added pouch for mp3 player or cell phone on the shoulder straps and Replace the top ring/handle (now it feels like they used a cheap little thread made with left overs. These will make it a complete bag, even without them its the best daily use bag I every had. Bottom line, if you want a simple, light weight daily bag this is the best. The mainframe design looks fine to me!

I bought this back pack and I love it. it looks nice and it has lots of pokets. the only poroblem i had with it is that the website is misleading, the description that they had was for a different size of a backpack. it is actually a small size and it did not fit my laptop. I ended up going on another website and bought a same but large backpack and it was way hudge so i returned the large and kept the small.

the book bag was very sturdy and nice but ebags falsd advertised they shipped me the campus small which couldn't fit much of anything maybe two books and your 13 inch laptop but that would be stretching it. the customer service for ebags just sucked no other way to describe it. amazon though was very polite and helped me get my refund.

The bag is very good. it has many pockets for various items, Calculator, music/phone, change and a cooler for narrow can energy drinks. However the carry handle can dig into your hand if the bag is weighed down.

Love the cheetah print, it's subtle but not boring. It seems to be very well constructed, I think it will last a long time. The inside linings are cool too, but this particular style "Prom Pack" has a really annoying problem. When you set it down, it always tips forward and falls onto the front of the pack, so it will get dirty if you put it on the ground or floor. I don't know why this bothers me, but I find it hugely irritating. I constantly have to maneuver it to lean against something when I put it down so it doesn't tip over and spill the contents. And, since it always wants to tip over, it's really hard to get my books out. I feel like I'm always fighting with the stupid thing! IMO, it only holds about 3 big books. I can only fit 2 giant sized microbiology books, a 14" mac laptop, a thin notebook and plastic 3 pocket folder in the pack, so if you need to carry more, pick a different style-the cheetah pattern comes in other styles besides "Prom Pack". I found the pockets on this bag to be fairly standard, with the exception of the soft lined sunglasses pocket on the top, and the little pockets on the sides. I put keys, lip gloss, gum and other small stuff in them that I don't want to dig for. There's also a pocket that's lined for food, but it's only useful if you eat flat food, and I seriously doubt its insulating power. I'm impressed with the quality of this brand, just not the Prom Pack style.

It has lots of room for all of your books and many pockets for other items. It is made tough and rugged. Just love it.

The Dakine backpack has a very nice design and size. Mine is in the "cheetah" color. Formerly, I had a bulky navy Jansport bag, that was too big and not stylish at all. I decided to look for another bag upon starting college and stumbled upon this one. The reviews and price were reasonable, so I bought it. And I'm glad I did! I can fit a lot in it and it never feels uncomfortable. The shoulder straps are nicely padded so shoulder strain is not as high. It has several compartments; I put my books and notepads in the first one, cellphone, mirror, mp3 player, calculator & other necessities in the 2nd compartment, and my water bottle & snacks in the smallest zipper compartment. There is also a front pocket, 2 side pockets, a laptop holder, and a pouch at the top of the bag. That's a lot of space! It fits everything I could possibly need on any given school day. The inside design is also very colorful and pretty. If you need a durable backpack that fits a lot of stuff, but don't want to give up style or a compact size, the Dakine Prom Pack is a great option. There are many different styles/patterns available as well. Great for college students, high schools students, and so forth. Highly recommended!

The bag is sturdy and well-padded, comfy to wear even when full of overlarge physics textbooks. It's made of waterproof material, so my books never get wet and my notes aren't ruined. My 15.4 laptop fits fine in the laptop pouch. Currently the bag has a laptop, a 1-inch binder, a folder, a medium textbook, a solutions manual, an agenda, and a pencil case in the main pouch, and it could hold a bit more. I'm sure the front cooler pocket would be good for lunches, but I can't really say as I actually keep my hat and mitts in there. The medium pocket has a smaller zipped pocket in it, as well as some of those little open-top pockets for a cell phone, an iPod, and pens. There are also two other small zippered pockets on the bag, and a collapsible water-bottle holder. My favourite part is that the bag doesn't have those elastic cord thingies on the outside, like it's pretending to be a camping backpack or something. It's a school bag for college students, it works like one, and it looks like one.

I love this backpack! There are lots of pockets to stay organized and it can fit everything I need during the day for school (I'm a sophomore in college). It is also very comfortable. Even with my mac, a giant organic chemistry book, and some notebooks, it doesn't feel too heavy. I really like the separate computer pocket so my mac is protected, but if I don't have my computer it is out of the way. I thought that the cooler pocket would be wasted space for me, but it's a really nice, deep pocket that I use for carrying fruit, computer cable, or any other little things. I have used it for one semester and it seems very sturdy - I'm sure it will last a long time!

The backpack turned out to be better than I expected. Very comfortable to wear, many pockets, and ample space. I'm very impressed!

I was very happy with the purchase of the Dakine Jewel Backpack and was quite pleased with the fast and efficient service. Much easier than battling lines in the store! Would definitely use this vendor again.

I bought this backpack fro the 6th grade and I have used it until 9th grade. It is great quality and its also very fashionable. My favorite feature is the in side of the pockets all have different prints(polka dots). also, i always had to take my laptop to school, there was a very handy laptop case which is already padded so i did not need another case at all. All in all this backpack is a great quality and i would definitely recommend it.

I usually love Dakine's products, and this one looked exactly as pictured when it arrived in the mail, I thought it was a great quality. However, when I wore it hiking in yosemite it was VERY uncomfortable. The strap near your neck hits you all wrong, and gave me a neck ache. I adjusted the straps but there was no way to really fix it. I think this backpack would be fine for short periods of time, but not for hiking.

I got this to replace my small pandora backpack from north face and it's really cute and the plaid design is cute as well, but it's not as usable as my northface one. It can still hold most of my stuff like my day planner, a book, wallet, phone, ipod,and keys. I don't think it can hold as much as my old backpack because I used to fit my camera and water bottle too, although the dimensions are the same. I like backpacks that have padding on the back and straps, which this one lacks, so it's not as comfortable to wear. If things slip, it pokes me in the back as I'm walking. I use it every day since I don't use a purse, so comfort is important for me. I don't think I can wear it when I go hiking like I did with my old one.
